First Letter from Corey at the MTC

Corey reported to the MTC on November 12th. On November 19th he had his first P-day, meaning Preparation Day, when he can do laundry, shop, and a few other approved activities, including send an email. Here's his first, entitled "HEY HEY HEY".

Hey Hey Hey

Hello, hello all, Elder Corey Blanchet reporting in. I have a week under my belt! Things have been great so far. The MTC (Missionary Training Center) has been a blast. I am learning a lot and as always, making new friends (without forgetting my old ones, of course).

My companion in the MTC is Elder Jeffery. He's a great guy from Orem, UT. We get along great.

Hmmmm... What else to say?Well, I am writing to you from the computers in the laundry room. It gives me something to do while I wait for my clothes. This place is a mad house right now. Elders and Sisters running all over the place, claiming washers and dryers like they were plots of land during the California Gold Rush! Speaking of California, I'm pretty excited.

Oh yeah, and the other two Elders that live in my room are Elder Duncan, from New Mexico, and Elder Logan, from Provo Utah. We are all getting along well and we are all going to the California Sacramento Mission. I leave the MTC in just 2 more quick weeks.

I've seen a lot of my friends who I went to BYU with here too, so it has been really great.

I have a lot to learn still, but I know I can do it. I love and miss you all.I know that what i'm doing is the right thing, and there is no way i would rather spend these next two years. I am greatful for the opportunity that I've been given, to serve the people of Sacramento with love, and to teach them that the true Gospel of Jesus Christ has been restored to the Earth b/c of God's uncomprehendable love for us.

I belong to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and I am proud to say it.

With Love,-Corey Blanchet
